BarcelonaEngineering Manager

AntonioLibrada

Engineering manager with over ten years in software development, more than five of them leading teams. Most of what I care about is building an environment where engineers can grow, do their best work, and ship things they are proud of.

Day to day that means Kotlin and Spring underneath, React, Svelte and Astro on top, and Terraform, AWS and Cloudflare holding it up. Outside work I build small, fast, offline-first web apps and run the homelab that hosts most of them.

01 — Free time

Things I build for myself

Offline-first, no accounts, small bundles. Mostly hosted on my own homelab.

02 — Professionally

Products I shipped at work

Global scale, real stakeholders, and teams who had to keep it running afterwards.

Where I've been

  • Engineering Manager · Red Bull Media House

Lead a cross-functional team building and running the talent and recruitment products, with an agile mindset that survives requirements changing underneath it.

    • Formed a cross-functional team of six engineers and grew it into a healthy, stimulating place to work.
    • Led the relaunch of the Red Bull Recruitment Portal and Wingfinder, reshaping the cloud architecture while keeping candidate data private.
    • Ran the Domain-Driven Design workshops that turned a blank page into a scoped product, then iterated on it.
    • Contributed hands-on: Kotlin back end from ~3s to 150–200ms, and a React front end from Lighthouse 14 to 83.
  • Lead Software Engineer / Developer Advocate / Full Stack Developer · Red Bull Media House

Five years going from building redbull.com to owning the architecture and the stakeholders around it — via two years spent making other teams good at the web.

    • Built and scaled redbull.com — millions of daily visitors, 30+ languages, 170+ countries — and the CMS behind it, used by hundreds of editors.
    • As Developer Advocate, was the technical advisor for global web campaigns and led the more ambitious builds, including Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Cliff Diving.
    • Took over the brand products (Cartoons, Energydrink, Organics), realigned their priorities, and optimised the stack until the same features cost fewer resources.
    • Owned stakeholder management for anything technical, and delivered on the dates that came out of it.
  • Lead Frontend Developer · 3 Banken EDV

Built consumer-facing banking front ends, and the standards and architecture the rest of the front-end work was held to.

    • Established the JavaScript standards and front-end architecture, and ran the internal workshops and training around them.
    • Point of contact for agencies, external partners and management on front-end matters.
    • Owned the seam between the Java back end, the legacy banking services and the web.
  • Software Developer · Playence

First job out of university: Java, Spring and Solaris on an enterprise search engine. Building the UI-heavy parts is where the web stopped being a side interest.

    • Worked across the stack on an enterprise search engine — Java, Spring, Solaris.
    • Built the UI-heavy interfaces that turned JavaScript from a means into the thing worth getting good at.
